Obituary
Richard Lewis Carlin, PhD. age 77, Born July 28, 1935, to the late Joseph and Esther Carlin , beloved husband of Dorothy, nee Eisenberg, for 53 years. Cherished father of Rachel (Kevin) Segal and Sarah ( Howard) Rosenblum. Proud and loving Papa of Abby and Daniel Segal and Leah and Jeremy Rosenblum. Dearest brother of Ira ( Jane) Carlin. The family is grateful for the loving care given to Dr. Carlin by his caregivers Teek Senal and Chris Ocupe. Professor Carlin was a professor of Chemistry at the University of Illinois in Chicago from 1968 until his retirement in 1998. He also taught at Brown University for 10 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Chicago Symphony. Chapel service Tuesday 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights.
